“Written Off” Film Screening

Join GLRC on October 17th at the Adolescent Services Center in Negaunee for a free community screening and discussion of the film “Written Off.” Along with the film, we will hold a discussion that will provide people with take-away resources, local treatment information, and address the destructive stigma of addiction. Congress Pizza will be sponsoring the event by providing pizza for the viewers. Please RSVP to ttankersley@greatlakesrecovery.org to ensure we have enough pizza.

About the Film

The film chronicles the life of Matthew Edwards, whose addiction to opioids began at age 15, after being prescribed pain medicine for a minor surgery. His grippingly honest journals reveal the secrets he tried so hard to conceal throughout a decade long struggle to escape addiction. Location

The screening will be held at the GLRC Adolescent Services Center, Community Room, located at 104 Malton Road in Negaunee. The event will begin at 6:00 pm with a short presentation of local statistics. After the film, there will be a panel discussion featuring community members with input on the opioid crisis.
