Rebuilding Lives After Addiction

Rebuilding LIVES After Addiction is a grant-funded program to help those recovering from a substance use disorder find assistance with employment by connecting them with social support services. Individuals eligible for this program include anyone living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, over the age of 18, who are in the recovery process.

What to Expect

Mission

The mission of the Rebuilding LIVES After Addiction is to create a recovery community consisting of employers, housing supports, vocational linkages, and continued peer support and counseling with the ultimate goal to help program participants secure and maintain employment. Staff will connect them with resources in their county to help them with their employment goals.

Vision

The vision of Rebuilding LIVES After Addiction is that every individual has the tools needed to succeed in the recovery process.

The Rebuilding LIVES After Addiction Model

The primary focus of Rebuilding LIVES After Addiction is to help people achieve their employment-related goals by addressing social determinants of health.

Specialists and coaches connect individuals with:

  • Housing: Connecting with recovery housing or the local Community Action Agency to help with housing.
  • Health: Specialists and coaches will help connect individuals to a healthcare provider and encourage them to schedule regular medical appointments.
  • Community: The Resource Specialist and the Peer Recovery Coaches will act as a support team and provide opportunities for participants to attend recovery support meetings. In addition, potential participant involvement in recovery housing could provide friendship and a positive social network.
