“One-Stop” Access to the Help You Need

You’re Not Alone

Studies show that one out of every four Americans suffers from a behavioral, mental health or substance abuse disorder. At Great Lakes Recovery Centers our outpatient programs address the needs of adults, children and families suffering from a variety of problem behaviors, thoughts and life patterns.

We Understand

Many people are afraid to ask for help when they’re hurting. Our clinicians and staff understand and care. They’re trained to recognize and treat adults, adolescents and children troubled by:

  • Fear, anxiety or depression
  • Conflicts or difficulties in relationships
  • Trauma or abuse, PTSD
  • Alcoholism or substance abuse
  • Eating disorders and obsessive/compulsive behaviors
  • ADD/ADHD , Conduct and educational issues
  • Sexual disorders & addiction

Specialized Services for Adults, Families, Children & Adolescents

Great Lakes Recovery Centers outpatient programs help individual clients and families achieve short term stabilization and resolve trouble areas. Whether the issue is trauma/abuse, addiction or a behavior related disorder, our clinicians can assess a client’s needs and structure an effective, individualized treatment plan.

Mental Health Concerns

Can disrupt a person’s thinking, feeling, mood, daily functioning and their ability to relate to others.  These disorders range in severity from mildly debilitating to life threatening and include:

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) assessment and counseling
  • Depression
  • Bi-polar disorder
  • ADD/ADHD
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder
  • Conduct and eating disorders
  • Anxiety disorders

Trauma and Stress take a devastating toll on individuals, families and couples. Life events related to death, divorce, injury, aging, and sexual/physical abuse often create serious mental and emotional health problems; while not necessarily disorders, these problems often have catastrophic effects on people affected by them.

Co-occurring Disorders

Dealing with a single addiction or mental illness disorder is difficult enough. But when an individual faces multiple issues (substance abuse combined with depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD or abuse, for example), specialized treatment is the best option.

Individual & Group Sessions

Intensive one-to-one counseling is available for those who need it.  Group treatment customarily occurs once a week, for six to twelve weeks (more frequently for Intensive Outpatient programs).  Our group offerings include:

Thinking Matters Group

This cognitive behavioral group helps individuals understand the connection between their substance abuse and behavioral problems.  “Thinking Matters” connects the dots in a positive, practical way.

Women’s Group

Clients focus on learning and putting into practice effective life and recovery-related skills including:

  • Relapse Prevention
  • Family Interactions / Parenting
  • Women’s Health
  • Life Skills Development
  • Communication Skills
  • Pharmacotherapy/Physiology
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
  • Motivational Enhancement
  • Anger & Recovery Management

Court and Department of Corrections Clients

At Great Lakes Recovery Centers, we offer programs specifically tailored for offender status clients or those with legal obligations. Therapy focuses on reducing relapse/recidivism by helping clients understand the connection between addiction and the criminal behavior cycle.
